Zidoo X5 Review, Another Amlogic S905 Android Media Player
Several days ago Zidoo has introduced a new Android media player based on Amlogic S905 CPU with name X5. It was only a logical decision because many other companies has already released similar device. Main features are very low price, Amlogic S905, 1GB RAM, and 2.4 GHz WiFi.
Unboxing
You will get remote control, DC charger, HDMI cable, short user manual and of course Zidoo X5 player.
Design and build
It has futuristic design read of the case is made of plastic. Usually on both sides it has all required ports like 2 X USB, 1 X HDMI and so on.
Performance and benchmark testing

As you can see this Android media player has medium strong hardware which has shown to be very good specially thanks to Amlogic S905. From what we can see all popular apps works without any problems including of course KODI which is definitely the most important app for movie lovers. During watching movies in all resolutions everything was just fine, or in other words you can expect fluid work. Below you can see also benchmark test results including Antutu benchmark testing.
Software
As on any other Zidoo product so this one also has user interface which was additionally modified by these company. They did a great job because it works great, in other words all apps opens fast and works without lags or possible bugs. Currently it runs Android 5.1.1 and from what we can see it will get update very soon. But this is nothing new from them because they update software for all their products. Connectivity
For connectivity it has usual functions like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 10/100M fast ethernet. So it is reality just up to to you which kind of connectivity you will use. Wi-Fi has good range for stable connection including Bluetooth while the ethernet works as it should work.
Conclusion
Zidoo X5 is a really great and high quality Android media player. It is currently selling at very low price which is actually around $50. It has good optimized hardware and software. And last thing but most important also is that Zidoo regularly updates software or apps for their products. This is very important because sometimes some products without support our useless.
