XIAOMI LAUNCHES MI 10 LITE ZOOM EDITION AND MIUI 12
Global technology leader Xiaomi today unveiled the Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition in mainland China. Starting from RMB 2,099, this brand-new 5G offering is the first-ever Xiaomi device to host a periscope camera capable of 5x optical zoom and up to 50x digital zoom, while retaining a 7.88mm ultra-slim body.
The launch also highlighted new innovations in design, user experience, and versatility by debuting Xiaomi’s latest operating system – MIUI 12 and two new ecosystem offerings – Mi Bluetooth Earphones (Line Free Edition) and Mi Watch Color Keith Haring Edition
Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition: Style Meets Extended Battery Life
Packs a vibrant, lightweight design and a long-lasting battery power, Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition is made for every young and energetic style seeker who lives on-the-go. Users are offered five color options – Tangy Orange, Peppermint Green, Berry Blue, Peach Pink, Licorice Black, to match their personal styles.
Thanks to a specially designed 33% thinner AMOLED display, a 7.6% thinner custom-made periscope camera, and a 25% thinner heat pipe, the thickness of the device is reduced by 0.1mm, achieving a 7.88mm ultra-slim and lightweight design.
The device’s ultra-thin style does not compromise battery life. Equipped with a 4,160mAh high-density battery, Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition comfortably meets the high energy requirements of 5G networks and guarantees one full day of uninterrupted use.1 This enables it to retain more than 50% of its charge even after a 7-hour battery life endurance test.
Periscope camera offering up to 50x digital zoom
Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition’s camera carries on the outstanding legacy of the Mi 10 series while being the first Xiaomi device to adopt a periscope telephoto camera.
The periscope telephoto camera is capable of reaching 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom, making it among the highest performing periscope lenses currently available in a smartphone and enabling it to effortlessly capture stunning up-close images of far-away objects.
In addition to the periscope lens, the device sports a 48MP primary rear camera, a 120° wide angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera, providing 15 to 122mm focal length coverage. With the addition of optical image stabilization (OIS) technology on the 8MP telephoto camera, the incredibly versatile and consistent smartphone camera system adapts seamlessly to any indoor or outdoor setting.
Protective accessories with antibacterial properties
Users who purchase Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition will enjoy an additional surprise as the device is delivered in one of five specially-designed boxes which include stickers for further phone case customization.
The complimentary transparent phone case and screen protector address recent concerns over smartphone cleanliness by adopting a silver ion material that possesses 24/7 antibacterial properties.
MIUI 12: Brings Imagination to Life
Standing at the forefront of design and user experience, MIUI 12 once again ignites your imagination with its whole new set of animation, aesthetics, and privacy functions.
With Xiaomi’s MiRender engine, Folme animation engine, and MAML illustration engine, MIUI 12 created an elegant and ultra-smooth UI experience. It also realizes highly efficient user interaction by visualizing every data, information, and status.
Adopting a game-level engine for real-time rendering and official NASA statistics to precisely reconstruct planetary landforms, the newly introduced MIUI 12 Super Wallpaper feature takes cosmic aesthetics to the peak of realism, creating stunning visuals for your wallpaper and always-on display.
To achieve ultimate data security, MIUI 12 offers Flare, Barbed Wire, and Mask System functions to provide users comprehensive protection. The Flare function marks out sensitive app activities to the user, while the Barbed Wire function allows users to take control over their own app permissions and erase sensitive information when sharing documents. When activated, the Mask System gives rogue apps blank information to protect data for five permissions including contact lists, calendar, and call records.
MIUI 12 is certified by authoritative institutions in China, Europe and the US, and is also the first operation system in the world to receive the TÜV Rheinland “Enhanced Privacy Protection for Android Systems” certification.
MIUI 12 also supports a series of user-friendly functions including free-float multitasking windows, AI Call Assistant, Mi Health, an all-new control center, and Dark Mode 2.0. MIUI 12 will be supported on 40 Xiaomi devices, with the stable release to be gradually rolled out in June.
Mi Bluetooth Earphones (Line Free Edition)
Mi Bluetooth Earphones (Line Free Edition) is equipped with a QCC5125 flagship chipset which supports Qualcomm® aptX ™Adaptive low latency technology, capable of reaching a latency of 80ms. It automatically adjusts between providing the best quality audio or lower latency streaming based on the audio content that is being played.

Mi Watch Color Keith Haring Edition
