Doogee Shoot 2 Review – cheapest dual rear cameras phone

As the time goes by technology is improving every day, and from what we can see dual rear camera setup is becoming standard feature for every smartphone. So the same situation is also with Doogee Shoot 2 which we have in these review article. But what is most interesting that these smartphone costs only around $80, or in other words the price is very low.

Build quality & Display

At first glance we thought that this phone is made from metal because of look, but we were wrong because it is made from plastic. Apparently from high quality plastic because it gives you impression that is made from metal. Besides that Doogee Shoot 2 looks awesome and gives the impression that it costs much much more than in reality, or in other words it gives you premium feeling. Additionally dual rear cameras gives premium feeling.

It is not too big or too small to hold in one hand, and from other information about design it is more or less the same I like many other smartphones. When we speak about the display, we can tell you that it has 5 inch screen with HD resolution. Overall for $80 smartphone they done a great job.

Performance and benchmark testing

Okay when we speak about built in hardware, and how it works in real world. For the start we can tell you that it is based on quad core CPU Mediatek MT6580A with Mali-400 GPU. But when we speak about memory it is actually available in two different versions: 1GB/8GB and 2GB/16GB. For this testing we have 2GB RAM version, and it has approximately 11GB available for storage space.

So you can see Doogee Shoot 2 has medium strong hardware, but it was expected considering the price. In reality you can’t expect to have high-end hardware under $100. But still these built-in hardware is okay. Because we tried to play games, watch movies, and other everyday stuff like going to the Internet and and everything worked just fine. Here is nothing special because GPS is working just fine with precision of 3 m without mobile data or Wi-Fi connection. Just for the first time you will need to connect your Shoot 2 to Internet to receive required information for the GPS. But after that is working just fine.

Camera Quality

Definitely the main feature of these smartphone is dual rear cameras. So it has dual rear cameras which both have 5 megapixel camera sensors. We are really surprised to see these kind of camera setup for smartphone because the price is actually very low under $100.

We don’t have any information what type of camera sensor is. But we can tell you that Doogee was working with Huawei on this project to ensure shoot focus on the subject with bokeh effect to ensure higher color saturation and sharpness. So maybe camera sensor is made by Huawei. But nevertheless most important thing is photo quality.

Below you can see photo samples made by this smartphone, and you can see that photo quality is actually very good for this price range. Also dual rear camera setup gives you also opportunity for wide-angle photography, and it has 2x optical zoom where digital zoom is 8x. So this sounds great for $80 device.

Battery life

Doogee Shoot 2 has 3360mAh built-in battery according to the company. Unfortunately it does not support quick charging, but we didn’t expect to see this feature. So you will receive 5V 1A charger. And as we said many times before we always test the battery with battery tester. So according to our calculations and battery tester it has approximately 2400mAh. Which is actually less than advertised.

Conclusion and price info

So we believe that Doogee Shoot 2 is at this moment the best choice for smartphone under $100. And if you are thinking to buy it, now is your chance to do that at Gearbest shop here. So the price is $84.99 for 2GB RAM version, while for 1GB RAM version is $74.09. So we think it is better to spend $10 more for 2 GB version.

Overall we are very satisfied because for these money it offers a lot. For the start it has dual rear camera setup, also it has very good build quality with cool design. Hardware  performance are also just fine, and you can normally enjoy playing games including other stuff. So overall you should definitely consider it.
